Homecoming 2021 represents a broad swath of emerging talent and collectively showcase the cohort’s first steps as independent artists. In fact, there are 111 photographers represented in the exhibition and printed catalog. More importantly, the publication will be distributed free of charge to curators and editors throughout the photographic community, where it will serve as a place for new artists to be seen and their talents discovered for the first time. In addition to being featured in the publication, a selection of images will also be exhibited at JKC Gallery at Mercer County Community College in Trenton, New Jersey as part of a large group exhibition. Lastly, submissions from qualified entrants not chosen for the publication or exhibition will be included in downloadable PDF that will be made available for free on www.mfaphotographyreviews.com
“With an open theme, and no entry fee, we hope this open call for submissions will lower the barriers of entry and lay the groundwork for everyone to have access to the same, broad audience,” said Dana Stirling, “This is honestly just the beginning. After we publish Homecoming 2021, we will start to offer students access to other career-building opportunities, like free portfolio reviews. It’s an exciting time and we are fortunate to be in the front-row while it’s happening.”
In support of the open call for submissions, Homecoming 2021’s inaugural publication, and the forthcoming group exhibition, FUJIFILM North America Corporation has graciously offered to donate all printing services related to group exhibition at the JKC Gallery as well as a FUJIFILM GFX100S Large Format Mirrorless Camera and a FUJINON GF32-64mmF4 R WR Lens ($8,300 ARV) to one student that will be randomly selected from the group of students that were chosen for the publication.
